The You Doll Pose.

Taking the photo.

Each you doll is made using a photo that you send us so it is important to send a good one. Follow these simple steps to take the best photo possible:

·         We recommend using a digital camera with at least 7 megapixels to ensure image quality .

·        Capture the subject’s full body from head to toe. (If the photo does not include the subject’s feet, the doll will not have feet).

·        Take a photo specifically for the you doll. We are often asked if we can use an existing photo to make a doll and the answer is almost invariably, “no.” The pose makes all the difference.

·        Try to copy the pose shown in the pictures here at the site (feet shoulder width apart, arms away from the body) to achieve a doll- like position.

·        Good lighting: Take the photo in a well lit room or even outside in daylight.

·        An opposing background: When taking a photo indoors try to have the subject stand against a background that is a different color than their clothes and hair. This step is not a must but it helps us here at the studio.

*  Eye Level: When the person taking a photo is taller than the subject (as in an adult taking a photo of a child) the subject can look distorted. Try to have the camera at the subjects eye or chest level when taking the photo.
